Neil Young's 'Old Man' is just as much about the young man realizing he will one day be an old bitter fuck as much as the old man accepting he was once a young idealistic twit.
What about us dudes in the middle - still sort of fancy ourselves as the former but realizing we're headed to becoming the latter? I can say for sure that I had some young idealistic twit in me in days gone by and I hope to become an old fuck but perhaps I could avoid the bitter - just so Neil doesn't have me pegged.
